"This mix arrived at a serendipitous point in my personal sonic journey. Up until very recently, I've been known locally as a deep, jackin' and groovy house specialist. My first event with BTM was in February of 2023 and that was the first time I played a techno set and it absolutely changed my universe. Since then I've opened myself up to the genre and (sub-genres), traveled to Detroit for Movement where I was able to see some of the best to ever do it, and I have quite literally fallen in love with techno. DJ DISSOLVE is 4th generation Portlander, Producer, DJ, and co-founder of the artist collective Soul House. His taste for the underground was heavily shaped by a 2019 academic semester spent studying in Germany, where he was able to grasp the global influence of Chicago house and Detroit techno. His goal when getting behind a mixing board, turntables, or a pair of CDJs is always the same, to make the urge to move - irresistible.
