The Sanmi - Black Techno Matters Radio
The Sanmí is a New York/DC based DJ. Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, he went on to spend his formative years in several multicultural cities across South Africa and the US. His love for music and eclectic nomad background heavily influence his style of music. He is drawn to authentic African and Black sub genres of dance music; primarily Afro/Deep House, Gqom, Afro Techno, Afrobeats, Amapiano, UK Garage and Disco. He explores themes of language, identity, spirituality, representation and authenticity through his music. He hopes to expand West African representation in the space of African Electronic Dance Music through a fusion of traditional Afro House with Afrobeats percussive elements.
