BLACK TECHNO MATTERS continues its Liber8 US 2026 tour with a stop in Baltimore featuring techno and club music heavy hitters at The Compound on Friday, March 20.

JUANA has enticed crowds all over the world at countless festivals and underground warehouse gigs. We’re excited to have this techno titan back on a Black Techno Matters lineup!

yNOTi, full-time Angel of dark techno, will be flying in from LA to add her genre-bending sonic spectacles to the fun.

NOMIII, a staple in the Baltimore and DC music scenes, will get us moving with her signature blends of techno, club, footwork, and house music, creating an eclectic and energetic sound.

KOTIC COUTURE, a trailblazer in the Baltimore music scene and self-proclaimed “Queen of the Underground”, will be bumping her dynamic and delectable mix of club music, hip-hip, techno, ballroom culture and house music on the speakers.

It all goes down Friday March 20th at The Compound in Baltimore. See you there!

Round Two!–we’re switching up and giving artists another opportunity to receive live feedback on demos for our second Sonic Sessions of the year on Wednesday, April 8! We’re inviting you to send in an original track that will be heard in an intimate setting by other artists and the Black Techno Matters label team themselves, followed by thoughtful discussion on your track.

Fill in the form and follow the instructions to submit your track by Wednesday, March 25. We keep sessions small to give our artists the full time to hear their tracks and chat with us. So, the earlier you submit, the better! Whether you’d like to submit a demo for the Black Techno Matters music label, test your mixdown or mastering techniques, or simply flex your creativity and talk about it, we’re really excited to hear from you!

We’ll email selected artists by Friday, April 3. Check out Sonic Sessions on the Black Techno Matters website for more details on how to submit.

NO VISA and BLACK TECHNO MATTERS combine forces to bring you two events in two cities (Richmond, VA and Chapel Hill, NC) exploring the intersection of spaces where no immigration papers are needed, just the will to dance, and where dancegoers find liberation through musical reclamation. Our borders will dissolve to a soundtrack interweaving global dance music that knows no bounds with the raw transportive afrofuturism of techno, creating an experience that will be one for the books!

SATURDAY APRIL 18 - RICHMOND, VA

We gather at LOSO where artist, producer, label head and NO VISA curator ALEC LOMAMI brings the expansive musical palette of the African diaspora to Richmond, VA, the former capital of the Confederacy. Raised in Kinshasa and based in North Carolina, expect Alec to tap into a sonic tapestry of club sounds from the Congo, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Angola, South Africa and beyond.

Rounding out the club room is a cast of frequent BLACK TECHNO MATTERS collaborators. Hometown duo EVILOGIK kicks it off with their signature high-energy, genre-hopping sound. Meanwhile NILE ASHTON (one-half of the power DJ duo Secret Handshake) brings his audacious club sound that’s not for the faint of heart, laced with electro, breakbeat, techno and more.

On the patio, things get spacey and weird as STARSHIP TRUTH and Black Techno Matters founder B_X_R_N_X_R_D pull deep cuts from the crates for all vinyl sets all night.

SATURDAY APRIL 25 - CHAPEL HILL, NC

We go from the club to The Cave, an intimate venue located underground in Chapel Hill, NC.

In the front room, URSOMAJOR serves us the borderless genreless spirit of the queer Durham underground. B_X_R_N_X_R_D takes us through l00ps, p0rtals and wormh0les with his visceral and other-worldly live drum machine style. NILE ASHTON returns with a second helping of razor-sharp electro and techno cuts. And Black Techno Matters resident and Richmond techno king XAV hops on the decks to cast some melodic spells.

In the back room, NO VISA member MICKY SLICKS will be on the decks. Born in Saigon and based in Raleigh, Micky fuses global club sounds with the precision and creativity of turntablism rooted in his b-boy origins. He's joined by technosexual EBONY RED, whose emotional and energetic sound is undeniable on the dancefloor, JUSTIN BODEGA who flips and bounces genres and styles from the past to the future, and GROOVY TEE, a DJ rooted in Kenya’s expansive music culture whose approach is both intentional and exploratory, celebrating familiarity while introducing new discoveries with a vibrant fusion of rare groove selections.

Liber8 US 2026 Tour

Experience the mission of BLACK TECHNO MATTERS at a city near you as the BTM crew traverses across US cities during the Liber8 US 2026 Tour!

In previous years, the innovative collective pulled off the feat of throwing multiple Liber8 US events in multiple cities during Juneteenth week. In 2026, the crew is spreading out the celebration throughout the year, and giving each city its own space to shine. The tour kicks off Jan 16th (MLK weekend) in DC followed by Richmond, VA on Feb 28th, then heads to other cities in later months.

We hope that the Liber8 US 2026 Tour will be a statement to the music community and to the world that BLACK TECHNO MATTERS, and show what's possible when black artists organize together.
